Men's Standard Sizing. Orpheus was the son of the God Apollo, who was so skilled on his lyre as to be able to make both humans and animals do his bidding. In this manner he won the love of the beautiful Euridyce, a maiden who loved to dance with the nymphs in the forest. On their wedding day Euridyce was bitten by a snake on her ankle, leaving two small punctures. Orpheus began a long journey to the underworld to retrieve her, overcoming many obstacles. He failed mainly due to the strength of his love, which caused him to break the single rule that he not look at her until they returned to mortal realms. Eventually Orpheus himself died, and was finally able to join Eurydice in the afterlife. The bite of the snake which ultimately cannot keep Orpheus and Eurydice apart is symbolic of the fact that no obstacle is too large for a love to overcome. Even through death, Orpheus refused to be parted from her. The Orpheus Ring represents eternal love, in all its forms. Set with two jade stones.
